Pipo Romero

Spanish guitarist and composer Pipo Romero (Cádiz, 1983) is one of the most unique voices in the current landscape of contemporary acoustic music. Across four critically acclaimed albums— Folklórico (2017), Ideario (2018), Ikigai (2022), and Alborada (2025) —he has developed his own musical language that reimagines Iberian and Atlantic folk traditions from a refined and contemporary perspective.

Raised in Cádiz, a historic port city shaped by centuries of cultural exchange, Romero's work draws on Spanish folklore while remaining open to Mediterranean and transatlantic influences. His music doesn't replicate tradition, but rather transforms it into a deeply personal instrumental voice, bridging heritage and modernity.

Through his steel-string acoustic guitar, he transforms the instrument into a soundscape of counterpoint, rhythmic precision, and melodic clarity.
