Plan Your Visit

The BOMBYX Center for Arts & Equity is located just off route 9 in the heart of Florence, Massachusetts, adjacent to the Sojourner Truth Memorial. While we have our own zip code, Florence is a village within the City of Northampton. We are a short 5-minute drive from Northampton’s vibrant and walkable downtown and easily accessible from Interstate 91.

If you're coming from out-of-town, you'll find a plethora of restaurants, galleries, parks, craft breweries, and shops in the area to enhance your visit. If you’re curious about what has come before, you’ll find a treasure trove of resources and exhibits by visiting our friends at the David Ruggles Center and Historic Northampton.

Bring your bicycle, rollerblades, or walking shoes. Florence is situated on the Northampton Rail Trail which connects to a regional network of bike paths. Younger visitors may enjoy an excursion to Look Park which boasts a steam train, pedal boats, wildlife center, and more.
Parking & Accessiblity

Parking

Please refrain from parking on the street in the residential portion of our neighborhood and help us be respectful of our neighbors.

We have three convenient parking options to choose from: (A) the lot in front of BOMBYX has a limited number of spaces but can be used for drop-offs and includes three handicap parking spaces; (B) the lot next door behind 140 Pine Street offers ample parking and includes three more handicap spaces; (C) The plaza at 176 Pine Street offers additional overflow parking and is a great place to start your evening with dinner at Masa Mexicano or the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant. It's a short 3-minute walk from the plaza to our front door.

Accessibility

There are three parking spots in the BOMBYX lot designated for vehicles with Disability Plates or Placards. The sanctuary entrance is accessible via paved walkways from the parking lot and sidewalk, with only a slight rise to the front doors. Inside, the entire first floor of the sanctuary is on a single level and we have several options for wheelchair seating. The balcony is not accessible.

Restrooms are located through the exit door to the right of the stage and down the hallway. There are no steps, but please note that the hallway ramps down with a gradual descent to the restroom level.
