Linda Tumbarello

Linda loves to dance and believes that dancing is a key to keeping physically and mentally flexible, and feeling good, especially as we grow older.

Her journey began in 1970, when a personal healing quest inspired her to explore the emerging fields of bodywork, movement, and psychotherapy. A pioneer in the body–mind field, Linda developed the Tumbarello Approach, her own integrative way of healing trauma and cultivating the wisdom of body, mind, and heart.

For over four decades, she has woven together body-centered psychotherapy, therapeutic bodywork, Body-Mind Centering®, embodiment practices, and movement to help people heal from physical and emotional pain, and rediscover joy and vitality in their lives.

Linda is a certified practitioner, and a long-time faculty member of the School for Body-Mind Centering®. She also teaches in the Dynamic Embodiment™ Training Program, leads groups for cancer survivors at the Cancer Connection and is a licensed mental health counselor.

She co-facilitates workshops with her life partner, Ron Freshley, for couples to deepen their relationships through restoring and expanding nurturing touch.

Author of The Heart of Self-Care: A Woman’s Guide to Joyful Living and Well-Being, Linda inspires individuals to cultivate self-compassion and move through life with grace, resilience, and joy.

Whether teaching, working one-on-one, or dancing, her invitation is always the same: come as you are, listen to yourself, and let your body move you toward greater ease, connection, and joy.
