Stijn Kuppens is an innovative cellist, composer, improviser, and producer. With seven albums of original music to his name, his work is frequently featured on Belgium’s classical radio station, KLARA. Stijn’s music is personal and immersive, with the cello always taking center stage. His musical explorations have led to a close partnership with composer and guitarist Myrddin De Cauter, resulting in a unique fusion of their artistic worlds. The latest release of their collaboration is the album “El sueño se deshizo para siempre” under the band name “Sonetos del amor oscuro”. The next upcoming release is scheduled for May 2026.
Beyond the stage and studio, Stijn is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He teaches cello at the Stedelijk Conservatorium Leuven and the Jetse Academie.
