Join us for BOMBYX Barrio Night, a monthly tradition where we invite the neighborhood to discover something new.

Described as a dynamic fusion blend of the best band traditions from the Balkans, New Orleans, Afrobeats, and Klezmer with elements of reggae and western music. Cocek! Brass Band, a Boston-based quintet, is inspired by acts like Fanfare Ciocarlia, Fela Kuti, Rebirth Brass Band, and Miles Davis. 

The band performs original music by band creator and trumpet player Sam Dechenne based on the sounds of Eastern European brass bands. The band’s members come from internationally touring ensembles like John Brown’s Body and Itzhak Perlman and bring a fiery combination of dance music with evocative improvisation and melodies that always delivers a good time.

Cocek! consists of Sam Dechenne (trumpet/vocals/composer), Ezra Weller (flugelhorn), Clayton DeWalt (trombone), Jim Gray (tuba) and Grant Smith (Tappan drum).
