Community Guitar is the brainchild and life’s work of Northampton resident, Andrew Lawrence. His classes bring guitarists together to meet one another, learn shared repertoire and develop the skills they'll need in a jam setting. He'll be offering both classes and jams at Bombyx this fall, so here's your chance to meet Andrew and see what Community Guitar could do for you.

This hands-on workshop will start with a brief overview, then we’ll work on a tune together, much as we would in a Community Guitar class. We’ll explore your options for both rhythm and lead guitar, as well as discussing how your head (music theory, the CAGED System, etc.) can make life a lot easier for your hands. By the end of our time together, we'll be jammin'.

Please note: Community Guitar classes have something to offer acoustic guitarists at a wide range of playing abilities, but they are not suitable for true "beginners". At a minimum, participants should be familiar with common chords and able to strum through a series of them without hesitating to change chords.
