The Northampton Education Foundation Adult Spelling Bee returns for its 23rd year!

In this annual fundraiser for the NEF Small Grants to Educators program, teams of three show off their humor, costumes, and spelling dominance, undaunted by words like tergiversation, myrmidon, or adularescence. Food and baked treats will be available for purchase.

All proceeds from the Bee are invested back into Northampton’s public schools.

New this year: opportunities for Spelling Bee teams to do peer-to-peer fundraising.

Spelling Bee teams should arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. to check in and get their team photo taken.

The Holyoke Hummus Co. food truck will be selling food from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and NEF will be selling snacks, drinks, and ice cream donated by Herrell’s. You can eat in the Rainbow Room while watching the Bee action live on the television. No food is allowed in the sanctuary where the competition will be taking place.

Donations to the Northampton Education Foundation are welcome through their website or at the event. All proceeds from the Spelling Bee support NEF's Small Grants for Educators program, which funds the development of creative and innovative teaching and learning initiatives in the Northampton Public Schools and Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School.
