Walter Trout

Blues guitar legend Walter Trout picked up the guitar as a boy in Ocean City, New Jersey and never looked back. Drawing inspiration from B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and John Mayall, he embarked on a lifelong pursuit of mastering the instrument and channeling raw emotions through his music. He was a part of the same Jersey coast scene of the late 60's and early 70's that jump started the careers of artists like Bruce Springsteen. Despite facing numerous obstacles along the way, including health battles that threatened his life, he was an ever in-demand ax-man, logging high-profile stints with John Lee Hooker, Joe Tex, Canned Heat and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (where he shared the stage with guitarist Coco Montoya). In the ‘80s he stepped up front and formed his own band. An impressive multi-decade discography demonstrates that Walter Trout’s songwriting abilities are as strong as his technical virtuosity. Whether he’s belting out soulful ballads or reeling off monster riffs, Walter Trout's onstage presence is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Walter Trout
“A serious quadruple threat as a powerful singer, harmonica player, guitarist, and songwriter. Like Stevie Ray Vaughan, whose similarly styled instrumental attack Trout can be favorably compared to, his songs aren’t just frameworks to hang his sizzling, meaty six-string solos around. Rather they are melodically and especially lyrically potent examples of a musician now at the top of his game.”
