+ THE CONCERT WILL TAKE PLACE AT LOOK PARK'S SANCTUARY +
++ In the event of rain, the show will go on - indoors at Bombyx ++
After their triumphant sold-out May 31st show “Dissecting the Beatles” at the Academy of Music, Valley favorites and Bombyx resident company Young@Heart will take over the Sanctuary at Look Park, performing songs by artists ranging from Blur to The Beatles, and from Mavis Staples to Marianne Faithfull, taking you on a magical tour of some of their best music. Young@Heart is more than just a chorus – it’s a testament to living boldly and creatively, proving that you can grow old without growing boring. The performers, ranging in age from 75 to 102, inspire audiences worldwide with their voices, humor, and deeply moving performances.
For this performance Y@H will be joined by Norma Dream, fronted by Norma Jean Haynes, who is the daughter of the late, great Chris Haynes, Y@H’s longtime accordion player. Norma Jean grew up watching her father play with Y@H and even joined the group on tour to Europe as a young child. At the memorial concert for Chris that took place last month Y@H and Norma Dream decided to join forces for this concert to celebrate his legacy and the amazing influence he has had on both groups.
Push for Joy will be with us serving hot and cold espresso drinks (as well as caffeine-free options) and an assortment of sweet treats.
How does it work? Weather permitting, we'll be at the Sanctuary in Look Park and if it rains, we'll be inside at Bombyx. It's a sure thing either way. There's plenty of parking near the Sanctuary, including spaces for vehicles with ADA placards. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and picnic (but leave the alcohol at home). There will be plenty of space for dancing close to the stage. Yes, dancing! And yes, we're pretty excited about that! See you there!
Please note: no outside alcohol is permitted into the event. Look Park will be providing beer and wine for purchase on-site. We won't be food for sale at this event so be sure to pack a picnic. Don't feel like cooking ahead? Support our nearby Florence restaurants and order take out!
Important: there is a $5 entry fee into the Park for vehicles without a season pass, handicap placard, or veterans plates. Ticket holders can purchase a season pass for a $10 discount at the concert only and must show their vehicle entry ticket.
Card to Culture tickets available.
Did you know? Bombyx is teaming up with ReVision Energy to power this summer’s concert series at Look Park entirely with solar energy. For each show, ReVision will be bringing their all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning, fully charged with solar power, to run the concert’s lighting and sound - quietly, cleanly, and emissions-free. You’ll also spot their solar-powered LED lights drifting on the pond during the concert. ReVision Energy is proud to support this unique blend of music, community, and climate action. They are a Certified B Corp and 100% employee-owned, and believe the way we power our lives—and our celebrations—matters.
