M Rudder (they/them) is a queer and trans Japanese-American artist creating work that explores the intersections of the natural world, gender identity, the sacred, and belonging. They are passionate about social justice and promoting peace, healing, and transformation at the individual, community, organizational, and societal levels. They hold an MSc. from Champlain College in Applied Conflict Studies, a BFA in Fibers & Textiles from Maryland Institute College of Art, and a certificate in Spiritual Direction from Still Harbor. They have studied aspects of Buddhism, Christianity, Daoism, Islam, and Judaism. They have learned from elders of indigenous traditions across the world and here in the US. They are grounded in the fine arts, writing, embodiment and earth-based practices, restorative justice practices, peace circles, conflict management, and community.
