Charlotte Malin

Charlotte Malin is a charismatic and soulful artist with a unique range spanning classical violin and viola, intimate and ethereal songwriting, and genre-defying improvisation. She is the co-founder of Connections Concerts Series, a musical journey centering co-creation, collaboration and community, and is the creator of Bach In Your Body, a somatic listening experience. As an entrepreneur and teacher, she facilitates many creative offerings at the intersection of music, holistic wellness, and creative empowerment.

Malin is a sought-after collaborator on the international stage. As a classical violist, she has toured in a string quartet with violinist Midori and served as Principal Viola of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and as a member of the Hartford, Albany, and Peninsula Festival Symphony orchestras. She holds degrees in violin and viola from New England Conservatory and Northwestern, where her principal teachers were Kim Kashkashian and Almita Vamos.

As a solo artist, Malin performs original music under the name Althaea. She is currently recording her debut album, Welcome Home, set for release in 2024. Her healing offerings include Sound Therapy, Spiritual & Family Constellations, and vocal empowerment coaching. Malin currently serves as the viola instructor at Amherst College and co-curates a community hub for embodiment, arts, and spirituality in Florence MA called The Hidden Temple.
