Come see some art, make some art, and support Amherst Regional High School’s new running track! This dynamic and quirky mixed-media art show encompasses four years of running-related artwork created by local artist and running coach, Camille Butterfield (they/them). This artwork spans from their years as a student-athlete at Smith College through their five seasons of coaching cross country and track at Amherst Regional, and captures some of the joys and challenges of those experiences. As their time as a coach comes to an end, they would like to use their artwork as a way to say goodbye to this community while leaving a positive impact behind.
Fifty percent of the proceeds from this show will go towards resurfacing the running track at Amherst Regional High School, which is currently condemned by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. The condition of the track has impacted every team Camille has coached, and so many members of this community are eagerly awaiting the day when fundraising is complete and work on the new track can begin. Please come support this great cause, celebrate running and art, and say goodbye to Camille! Art supplies will be provided at this event for anyone who is inspired to create something!
