Vox Sambou

A Fundraiser for Millpond.Live

Join us for a pre-festival celebration at Bombyx to raise funds for Millpond.Live with a very special alum from our 2019 season. Vox Sambou is back from Montreal, joined by Grammy-nominated singer Malika Tirolien (of Bokanté). Sliding scale donations help us close the funding gap for Millpond.Live, which is free for all to attend. You can also pre-register for Millpond at the concert.

Vox Sambou is an MC, poet, and multilingual performer from Haiti who writes and performs in Creole, French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He is a founding member of the Montreal-based hip-hop collective, Nomadic Massive. He has performed around the world and across North America including at the Kennedy Center in Washington. He has released three albums and his music focuses on the traditional rhythms of Haiti mixed with elements of afrobeat, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop.

This engagement of Vox Sambou is made possible through Performing Arts Global Exchange, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
