Join Charlotte Collins (violin/viola), Sophie Lippert (piano/cello), and special guests Carson Marshall (violin/meditation) and Arya Samuelson (author) for an inspiring afternoon of connection, co-creation, and community.
Featuring a multi-genre array of solo and collaborative music—from brilliant underrepresented classical pieces for chamber trio to original improvisatory compositions—this innovative Connections Concert offers a new and refreshing take on a concert experience.
Over the course of the afternoon, performers Collins, Lippert, Marshall, and Samuelson will weave together a dynamic array of music, words, and facilitated moments of audience interaction. Solo and chamber works by global composers Rebecca Clarke, Emahoy Tsegue-Maryam Guebrou, Jerod Impichchaachaaha Tate, and Clara Schumann will be featured alongside McClain’s original poetry, and mesmerizing musical meditations set to soundscapes by Marshall.
All are welcome, and free on-site childcare will be provided for children ages 6 months and up! Please register your child(ren) with your ticket.

Standing at the intersection of modern classical music, cross-disciplinary collaboration, multi-sensory engagement, and community cultivation, Connections Concerts are unique and transportive events, centering around tenets of deep listening, equal representation, and diversifying the concert experience. Connections Concert Series is a partnership between Valley-based musicians, teachers and creative entrepreneurs Sophie Lippert and Charlotte Collins. The series is a re-imagining of the traditional concert experience that addresses our society’s growing need for meaningful human connection. At Connection Concerts, the audience is invited to listen somatically, imaginatively, and intellectually; to engage in conversations with strangers about their experience; and to explore music written by underrepresented composers from around the world.
Connections Concerts is proudly sponsored by the Amherst Cultural Council.
